  • Strip-mall burglaries with windows broken. A restaurant employee called police at 12:50 a.m. after finding the Fremont Boulevard business' window smashed. A search also revealed the safe was missing. While investigating the restaurant burglary, officers found a second window-smash break-in at another business in the same strip mall. Video surveillance captured a shot of unknown man using a brick to break the window. He is described as 25 to 35, unknown race, tall, medium-athletic build and wearing a dark-colored baseball hat, dark hoodie and dark jeans.

  • Gun flashed in road-rage incident. At 6 p.m., officers were informed that a man brandished a dark pistol at another driver during a road-rage incident at Mowry Avenue and Paseo Padre. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a light blue newer coupe with chrome rims and a spoiler. He was described as Hispanic, 17 to 20, tall and skinny, with a blue baseball cap and a white shirt.

  • Man found dead at bus stop. An older transient man was found sitting upright -- but deceased -- at 8 a.m. at a bus stop at Fremont Boulevard and Sundale Avenue. He was first noticed by a passing officer, who said the man was sitting motionless, yet holding a banana upright in his hand. The officer said he was cold to the touch, and called for medical assistance. The individual was in contact with friends just two hours prior, and no foul play is suspected.

A 50-year-old Fremont man was arrested at 9:45 p.m. after officers found him slumped behind the wheel of a vehicle on Wallace Place.  The car was running and blocking the entire roadway. The male was arrested for DUI and for driving on a suspended license, due to prior DUIs.

Friday, Dec. 13
  • Big knife under shirt. An officer patrolling at 10:40 p.m. at Motel 6 (North) spotted a male loitering in the parking lot who quickly walked away when the cop tried speaking with him ... and who appeared to be concealing a silver object with a wooden handle underneath his flannel top. The object was a 12-inch hunting knife with an 8-inch fixed blade, and the man, 58, was arrested for concealing a dirk/dagger.
  • Unlucky Friday the 13th at Cloverleaf. A 19-year-old man was arrested at 12:30 a.m. for public intoxication at Cloverleaf Bowl, after he was reportedly yelling and kicking the door of a female’s vehicle. He was hostile with arresting officers, and banged his head against the patrol car's window and attempted to kick out the side window. He was placed in a wrap restraint and booked into Santa Rita Jail, Dublin.
Thursday, Dec. 12
  • Suicidal with gunOfficers were called to handle a despondent male, armed with a gun and standing in front of his residence arguing with a family member over relationship issues. The man left prior to police arrival, but was thought to be at another residence on Philadelphia Place and possibly inside with other family members.  That house was surrounded and cleared, with a replica gun found discarded in a nearby gutter.  He was located later at a Wixon Drive home, detained without incident, and transported for a mental health evaluation.
