Art Sculpture to Beautify Popular Intersection

The art rendering will be placed at Paseo Padre Parkway and Stevenson Boulevard

A busy intersection in town is getting a new look.

City council approved a plan to spend an estimated $200,000 on a sculpture that will be constructed at Paseo Padre Parkway and Stevenson Boulevard, according to The Fremont Argus.

Known as "Unity," the sculpture will feature "six stainless steel light-reflecting rings," Fremont Argus reported.

"Unity" was created by Bruce Beasley. At a recent council meeting, Beasley noted that the sculpture is meant to symbolize the "synergy of Fremont."

According to Principal City Planner Wayne Morris, the city has an art fund with a budget of $235,000, which will be used to complement the future redeveloped downtown area and other city projects that need artwork in addition to this project. After this project is constructed, more money will have to be amassed before artwork can be purchased for the downtown area or for other potential projects, Morris said.
