A review of Fremont's financial health should include: What is the benefit of sucking $4 millionRead More per year out of the local economy via red light camera tickets? Where does the $4 million go? $2 million to County and State Government $1 million to Insurance Co.'s and Traffic Schools $600K to Redflex in Arizona $150K to Police as overhead to run the program. $250K profit to the city And why? Massive ticketing does not reduce red light running. It actually is increasing. Also, there is no data which shows that massive ticketing has reduced collisions. Is there any other $4 million program with so little oversight? If there is a benefit to sucking this money out of pockets of visitors and residents, just show us.
