Mayor Harrison Takes a Dive for American Swim Academy

Keeping good on a promise, Mayor Harrison jumped into a pool fully clothed during the grand opening of American Swim Academy's new facility.

Folks like to joke that an "honest politician" is an oxymoron, but Mayor Bill Harrison made it clear Saturday that he's a man of his word.

During the grand opening of American Swim Academy's new facility at 4150 Technology Place, Harrison led a ribbon cutting ceremony and then made good on a bet he lost with American Swim Academy's owner, Matt Alberti. Harrison bet Alberti that if he was able to open the new facility before May 1, then he'd jump in the pool fully clothed.

According to American Swim Academy, the grand opening celebration also marked their 40-year anniversary and served as a fundraiser for the Fremont Education Foundation.
