Shots Fired in Fremont Neighborhood For the Second Time in Four Days

No injuries were reported, though damage was done to a home and a car parked on the street.

A group of teenagers and young adults were unharmed after gunshots were fired on the 5000 block of Garden Way Tuesday night, police said.

It was the second shooting in the neighborhood in four days, according to police spokeswoman Geneva Bosques.

“We don’t believe that these are random incidents,” Bosques said, adding that the shootings may be gang-related.

According to Bosques, the Tuesday night shooting occurred at about 10:30 p.m. when a BMW drove into the neighborhood and fired shots at a group of teenagers and young adults who were standing in the street.

No injuries were reported, though a car parked on the street was damaged.

The group of individuals who were shot at were uncooperative, Bosques said.

Neighbors reported hearing five or six shots and seeing multiple people running from the scene.

A CHP officer making a car stop nearby also heard the shots but did not see any vehicles, police said.

A shooting occurred on the same block just several days before.

Shots were fired Saturday at about 4 a.m. A window and the exterior of a home were damaged in the incident, police said.

Officers are actively investigating the shootings.
