Reminder: ALL Fireworks are Banned in Fremont

Please remember that the sale, possession, and use of all fireworks are banned within the City of Fremont.

This ban includes the "safe and sane" variety of fireworks that are legal in some other cities. The ban, in effect since December 1986, has helped reduce the number of injuries, wild-land and structure fires caused by fireworks in the City of Fremont.

Safe Disposal of Fireworks

Need to dispose of your fireworks? You can surrender dangerous and "safe and sane" fireworks that display the state of California certification seal to any Fremont Fire Station between 8:00 am to 8:00 pm any day of the week. Please do not leave fireworks if Fire personnel are not present to accept them.

Enforcement

Safety Patrols and Enforcement Fire and Police resources will be on patrol in Fremont during the peak times of concern to maintain an active vigilance against fireworks use.

In California possession of illegal fireworks is considered a misdemeanor, which is punishable by a fine of not less than $500 nor more than $1000 or by imprisonment in a county jail for up to one year. If you are found to be in possession of a sufficient amount of illegal fireworks, you may be guilty of a felony and punished by a fine up to $5000 and/or imprisonment in a state prison or county jail. Parents may be held liable for any damages or injuries caused by their childrens use of illegal fireworks.

Please be extremely careful during the Fourth of July holiday season and throughout the summer months with all outdoor activities. The abundance of dry grass and brush in the area has created an extremely dangerous fire condition.

Looking for something to do on 4th of July?

Attend the Fremont 4th of July Parade! Taking place for the third year in the City's Downtown location, the parade will feature more than 80 community entries. Beginning promptly at 10:00 a.m., the parade will start at the intersection of State Street and Capitol Ave on July 4th.  The parade is organized by the non-profit organization, Fremont 4th of July Parade, and is funded 100% by community donations. The review stage will be located in front of the City Hall buildings on Capitol Ave.
