Parenting: Online Safety Tips For Your Children

Local police share tips on how to keep your children safe from criminals online.

Now that the school year is well under way, it's likely that your children are spending more time on the computer.  

We'd like to ask all parents to pay close attention to what their children are doing on-line and suggest that all household computers be set up in family gathering areas and not in private bedrooms or other secluded spaces.

While computers are essential and offer so much to explore and learn from, we have to remember that the Internet can also be a very vulnerable place for children to roam.  

With that in mind, we'd like to share a recent publication from the FBI that provides parents with resources, tips and answers to better understand Internet safety.
