Milpitas Man Faces Charges in Fremont Armed Robbery

Police allege the man robbed a woman inside of a Fremont motel room.

A Milpitas man has been charged with felony robbery in connection to a motel room armed robbery in Fremont, authorities said.

According to Fremont police, Alex Philips, 18, of Milpitas, was charged with felony robbery Tuesday at the Fremont Hall of Justice in connection to the Sept. 27 armed robbery.

Police said Philips robbed a 24-year-old woman at gunpoint inside of a room at Motel 6 in Fremont, took her cell phone and cash and fled.

Philips was arrested Oct. 4 and evidence from the robbery, along with cocaine, were found during his arrest, police said. He is being held at Santa Rita Jail on a $120,000 bail.
