Cement Truck Driver Rams Car, Assaults Driver in Road Rage Fit

The driver was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and battery.

A cement truck driver was arrested Thursday after a frightening fit of road rage, police said.

The suspect, a 32-year-old employee of Tri-City Rock, was heading eastbound on Automall Parkway when he engaged in a dispute with the driver of a black Audi.

The suspect rammed the Audi, pushing it forward five feet, according to Fremont police.

Both drivers then got out of their vehicles, with the suspect brandishing a hammer, police said.

According to the police report, the victim ran back to his car but the truck driver caught up to him and punched him three times in the face.

The suspect then got back into his cement truck, rammed the car again, and proceeded to his work at Tri-City Rock.

He was later arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and battery.
