A pair of burglars made off with 80 cartons of cigarettes — about $4,000 worth — from a CVS store early Saturday morning, police said.

According to the Fremont Police Department, a street sweeper was cleaning in the area of the CVS at 46445 Mission Blvd. in Warm Springs at about 4 a.m. when he noticed that the front door of the store had been vandalized.

Officers responded to the scene and found that the glass doors were smashed by pieced of cement. A representative from the store later arrived and confirmed that the pharmacy chain had been burglarized. The loss was about 80 cartons of various cigarettes.
