Are Apple Computers Being Built in Fremont Again?

A tech news site reports that a Fremont plant is listed as a final assembler of Macintosh computers

It’s no secret that Apple once called Fremont its home, manufacturing the original Macintosh computers and other Apple products at a local facility in the 80s and early 90s. But the tech giant may have returned to its Tri-City roots, according to tech reports.

Apple news website 9to5Mac.com reports that the company recently named Quanta Computer USA as a final assembler of Macs, where the computers are put together and packaged for distribution.

One of Quanta’s two U.S. locations is 44350 Nobel Dr. in Fremont; the other is in Tennessee.

9to5Mac.com, however, has images of packaging labels originating in Fremont, indicating that Apple computers are indeed, in some form or fashion, assembled here.

In November, Apple launched its newest iMac models with an “Assembled in the USA” marker on both the packaging and the computers themselves, according to 9to5Mac.com.

Readers of the Mac website reported that quite a few of their new iMacs had originated from the Fremont area.

Everybody is serviced with the water through these old pipes. No matter how much you use, if yourRead More water is interupted for weeks or months after a major earthquake, you home is rendered "UNLIVABLE". They could have raised your "TAX ASSESSMENT" each year just like Garbage and Yard Disposal but that would be unfair to the homes that are unoccupied or are rentals. The rental owner would just raise the rents to cover it but they ususally take a 200% bonus on the rent so the landloard can take a "piece of the Action". Once a Tax Assessment goes on your property tax, it never comes off. Remember, the Water is FREE...it is the service that gets it from the source to your kitchen sink or bath that costs money. Be Glad the Oil and Gas companies have not made your water unfit to drink in Amameda County....YET.
