Woman Arrested in Connection to Robbery at ATM

Kamaljit Ghag, 20, of Hayward, was arrested Wednesday in Hayward and charged with felony robbery.

 

A 20-year-old Hayward woman was arrested Wednesday in connection to an April 29 ATM robbery.

Police say Kamaljit Ghag approached a victim outside of Wells Fargo Bank, located at 39265 Paseo Padre Pkwy., at around 8:50 p.m that night and demanded that he hand over his cash.

Ghag told the 38-year-old male victim that she had a gun and made a motion with her right hand in her sweater pocket. She then took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area.

Ghag is believed to have tried to rob another man of his cell phone about 15 minutes prior to the ATM robbery.

Investigators used surveillance footage to track down Ghag, who was arrested in Hayward.

During her arrest, Ghag had a driver's license and social security card beloning to a 33-year-old woman in her possession. Investigators contacted that victim, who said her purse was stolen two weeks ago in Berkeley.

Ghag was charged with felony robbery and two counts of felony possesion of stolen property.
