Police Searching for Suspects in Armed Robbery

By Bay City News

Police in Fremont are searching for a pair of armed suspects who robbed a Milpitas home early this morning, a police lieutenant said.

The home invasion robbery was reported at a residence on Pinard Street around 2:45 a.m., Milpitas police Lt. Max Nobida said.

The residents reported that two males armed with handguns entered the home and made off with various items.

About 25 minutes earlier, a Milpitas police officer had stopped a car in the 2200 block of Devon Place near the Milpitas-Fremont border. After stopping the car, the two occupants fled the scene on foot, Nobida said.

The lieutenant said evidence found during a preliminary police investigation linked the pair to the later home invasion robbery.

Officers and a SWAT team from the Fremont police department were called to aid in the search for the suspects around 4 a.m., according to police.

During the search, Scott Creek Road, a residential street east of interstate Highway 680 in Fremont, has been closed.

The two suspects, who are described only as armed males, remained at large as of 8:45 a.m.
