Update: Second Lost Dog Found

Police are asking for the public’s help to locate the owners of two lost dogs found Wednesday.

The first dog was found at about 8:45 a.m. after a citizen witnessed the dog fall or jump out of a window or the bed of a blue pick-up truck in the area of Fremont Boulevard and Gibraltar Drive. The truck was being driven by a woman.

The small male dog did not appear to be injured, police said. He was wearing a green harness and a blue and pink colored leash. He did not have any tags, police said. 

The dog was taken to the Tri-City Animal Shelter for a health inspection.

Later in the morning, a Fremont resident dropped off a second lost dog at the Tri-City Animal Shelter. 

Because of similarities, authorities believe the second dog to be from the same household as the one that fell out of the truck. 

The second dog was found running on Alder Avenue, not far from where the first dog was found. He was also wearing a harness and leash but no dog tags. 

Both dogs are believed to bet between 3 and 5 years old. Neither had identifying microchips. 

Police said they would still like to hear from the owner of the dogs even if they are attempting to abandon the them so that they can obtain more information about the dogs and place them in a new home.
