Big-Rig Crash Shuts Down Fremont Boulevard

A big-rig crash that occurred in Fremont this morning has shut down a major thoroughfare, police said.

The crash happened at about 10:45 a.m. when a big-rig hit a fence then drove into a ditch in the area of Fremont Boulevard and Delaware Drive, Fremont police said.

As of 1 p.m., crews were still working to remove the big-rig, and Fremont Boulevard was shut down in both directions, according to police.

Southbound Delaware Drive is also closed.

Police said the removal is expected to take several hours. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
