Attempted Gold Necklace Snatching in Ardenwood Neighborhood

The suspect fled the area in a newer model Audi sedan with a license plate containing "114" as the last three digits.

A woman was almost robbed of her gold necklace while walking in an Ardenwood neighborhood in Fremont Friday evening. 

According to the Fremont Police Department, the victim was walking west on Shalimar Circle around 5:20 p.m. when a suspect walked up behind her, reached over her shoulder and pulled on the victim’s necklace.

The victim screamed for help. An alert neighbor ran over to help but the suspect ran away, police said.

The suspect was described as a black male adult between 25 and 30 years old, standing at 5-foot-6 with a thin build. He was wearing a black jacket and black hat.

He was seeing fleeing the area in a newer model Audi sedan. The last three digits of the license plate were “114,” according to police
