ZUMBA TO HELP RAISE BABY WILLIAM

Where/When: Holly Community Center, 31600 Alvarado Blvd. in Union City; Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: Money raised at the fundraiser will go toward helping the son of Union City teacher Sara Husokowski, who passed away from a brain aneurysm Oct. 3. Her son William was only 7-weeks-old at the time.

Price: $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

INDIAN OPEN MIC KARAOKE

Where/When: Mehran Restaurant, 5447 Mowry School Rd. in Newark; Friday starting at 7 p.m.

Why Go: Sing along to your favorite Indian and Bollywood hits. Use the karaoke machine or bring your own CD.

HOLIDAY SOIREE AT WHOLE FOODS MARKET

Where/When:
 Whole Foods Market, 3111 Mowry Ave. in Fremont; Friday from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy live music, food samples, and beer and wine tastings at Whole Foods' first holiday bash. Every attendee will be entered into a raffle and the first 100 guests will receive a free reusable shopping bag. 

Price: $5 to enter, $10 with beer/wine tasting. 

HILLCREST RANCH SUNOL OPEN HOUSE

Where/When: 11901 Foothill Rd. in Sunol; Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Why Go: Sample Hillcrest Ranch Sunol's olive oils and enjoy the view from Pleasanton Ridge East Bay Regional Park. There will also be olive oil soap making and olive brining demonstrations

JAMES LOGAN MARCHING BAND AND COLOR GUARD INVITATIONAL

Where/When: James Logan High School, 1800 H St. in Union City; Saturday from 3:15 to 10 p.m.

Why Go: Watch more than 20 of the best Bay Area high school marching bands will compete and perform throughout the day. The event serves as a fundraiser for Logan's marching band.

Price: $15 general admission; free for children under 5 and those in the military
