Other facts

I currently serve as a Fremont City Council Member. It has been my honor to serve all the residents of Fremont as an effective leader who truly listens to the concerns of our community. I am proud of my work on the Council to create new entertainment and shopping opportunities at Pacific Commons and The Block, the new Warm Springs BART station, and developing plans for Downtown. On the Council, I have worked with my colleagues to address the severe cuts by the state and less revenue in our City. I worked to trim the budget and identify key areas to increase efficiency and consolidate work while maintaining safe streets, improving public safety and promoting economic development. I have been focused on bringing economic development and good projects to Fremont. For example, the South Warm Springs/BART project, working with the Urban Land Institute to assess development opportunities of the 850 acres around the Warm Springs/BART station to advance the ability to attract companies engaged in the 21st Century research, development, and manufacturing, that will create sustainable well-paying jobs & building commercial, retail, residential components to create a sense of place and identity for Fremont. As the Incumbent, I bring 4 years of Council experience. I am fully engaged in the job with dedication and commitment. There is no substitute for experience and during these critical times, this background and knowledge is key to representing Fremont for the next four years.
