Kennedy High School officials released an alert Tuesday after a man tried to grab a high school student walking on her way home from the campus.
According to police and school reports, the man approached the girl at about 3:30 p.m. and began to make unwanted advances as she passed through the Walters Jr. High School campus.
The man grabbed the girl and took her backpack, according to a “stranger danger notice” released by Kennedy High School.
The girl fled the area and notified authorities.
According to the report, the suspect is described as an adult male between 20 and 25 years of age, about 5-foot-11 with a light complexion and thin build, and short dark buzzed hair. He was wearing a white hoodie, blue work pants, and was carrying a clipboard with papers.
In the Kennedy High School notice, officials reminded student to be aware of their surroundings and to call 9-1-1 first if they encounter anyone acting suspiciously.
