Matthew Anthony Rossi, 29 of San Jose, and William Turner, 31, of Union City, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder stemming from a shooting at a Fremont motel on Nov. 24.

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with a shooting last month at a Fremont motel, police said today.

Multiple shots were reported at the Motel 6 at 46101 Research Ave. in Fremont on Nov. 24, according to police. However, while police found a bloody T-shirt at the scene, no victim could be located.

Some weeks later, the victim was finally located in the course of an unrelated arrest. He still had a bullet in his arm and had yet to seek medical attention, police said.

Police identified Matthew Anthony Rossi, a 29-year-old San Jose resident, and William Turner, a 31-year-old Union City resident, as suspects in the shooting.

Rossi had been taken into custody on Dec. 5 in Union City on an unrelated investigation into charges of kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats, violation of a domestic restraining order, false imprisonment, possession of a stolen vehicle and reckless evading, police said.

It was only after his arrest that investigators learned of his alleged connection to the motel shooting.

Turner was located on Tuesday in Union City, allegedly driving a stolen car in the area of Mission Boulevard and Tamarack Drive, police said.

Police attempted to pull him over, which resulted in a high-speed chase that ended when his vehicle was found abandoned on Teddy Drive in Union City.

Turner was found hiding in a backyard after a search of the area and was arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide, kidnapping, false imprisonment, parole and probation violations, reckless evading and resisting arrest, police said.
