Road Closed While Police Investigate 'Suspicious Object'

The Alameda County Bomb Squad is responding to the area of Thornton Ave. and Dondero Way in Fremont.

Fremont Police are on scene investigating a suspicious object in the area of Thornton Ave. and Dondero Way.  

At 9:02 a.m. a caller reported a suspicious object located near a bus stop on Thornton Ave.  Fremont officers are currently on-scene and have been unable to determine the origin of the object.  The Alameda County Bomb Squad has been requested and is currently responding to the scene.  This is a very standard and routine response to incidents involving suspicious objects.  We will put out updates as they become available. 

Out of precaution, Thornton Ave. between Blacow Rd. and Dusterberry Way has been closed until further notice.  We ask that drivers and pedestrians avoid the area until further notice.  We will continue to keep you updated.
