  • Driving drunk -- and urinating -- outside police station. As an officer was leaving a police department gated lot at 11:25 a.m., he saw a man standing just inside the door of a running vehicle.  The man was leaning on the car and urinating on the ground.  After much resistance, the driver was taken into custody for suspected driving under the influence of alcohol.  He refused a chemical test, so the officer obtained a warrant to obtain a blood sample.  After obtaining the sample, he was booked for DUI and resisting arrest.
  • Flasher near library. A female jogger contacted police at 8:05 a.m. reporting an adult man exposed himself to her near the main library.  The suspect was described as a black male wearing a black shirt. Attempts to locate the suspect were unsuccessful.
  • Psychiatric detention at BART. A man was transported on a mental hold to Washington Hospital from Fremont BART after telling BART police he wanted to jump in front of a truck. The subject had a $20,000 misdemeanor arrest warrant from Alameda County Sheriff’s Office for petty theft, and will be booked on the warrant when released.

  • Get pushy, get arrested. A 10:30 p.m. neighborhood disturbance near Alexander Street and Garden Way resulted in the arrest of an agitated man who pushed one of the officers away from him.
  • VIPS graffiti detailThe VIPS graffiti team focused the day's efforts around the Central Avenue area in Centerville and covered 343 graffiti "tags."

And at 7:49 p.m., a four-door, 1995 white Nissan Maxima with a black hood and yellow windshield wipers was stolen from the 4900 block of Brophy Drive.
Wednesday, Sept. 25
  • Drugs and guns. A man called 911 to report his business was being burglarized in two adjacent suites on Enterprise Street. The caller was inside one of his suites and said he could hear voices of a male and female inside his adjacent suite. As units responded, the caller told dispatch the suspects were now trying to force open the door that connects the two suites and that he had armed himself with a handgun and was waiting for police. Several patrols units responded and established a perimeter. The caller was instructed to put away his firearm and evacuate. Instead, the caller came out with his handgun in his right pocket and his cocaine in his left pocket. A surround and callout / search of the business was negative for any other suspects. There were several firearms lying around in plain sight. The 30-year-old Fremont resident was suspected of being under the influence of a controlled substance and arrested. Seized from the business were four weapons.
  • Stealing one beer evolves into serious charges, including robbery. At 3:40 p.m. a theft suspect began fighting with a loss-  prevention worker at FoodMaxx on Fremont Boulevard.  The man had entered the store and reportedly tried to steal a 24 oz. bottle of beer.  Loss Prevention confronted the suspect and told him to give the alcohol back and leave.  The suspect threatened and spit in the face of the store.  As officers attempted to arrest the suspect, who continued to struggle, made threats towards officers and was eventually restrained with a WRAP device and spit hood.  He was ultimately charged with robbery, threatening an officer, terrorist threats, resisting arrest, and a probation violation.
