Father Arrested After Leaving 3-Year-Old Alone in Convertible Car

The child was not harmed.

A 41-year-old Fremont man was arrested after leaving his 3-year-old son alone in a convertible car, police said.

The man, whose name was not released, left the toddler inside a convertible vehicle with its top down and the car running, said Fremont Police Spokeswoman Geneva Bosques.

Bosques said the boy was left alone for 10 to 15 minutes while the man was inside a FedEx business.

The man was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment and booked into Santa Rita Jail. The child is now with the his mother.

Police noted that the man was on probation but did not have details about why he was on probation at the time of publish. However, Bosques added that the man did not have a history of child abuse or neglect.
