Home Invasion Suspects Target Elderly Asians in Second Robbery This Week

The robberies are believed to be related, police said.

A trio of home invasion robbers may have struck northern Fremont for the second time this week Thursday night.

According to the Fremont Police Department, the Thursday night robbery was reported at about 10:10 p.m. on the 4300 block of Peregrine Way.

In that incident, the victim said that three men forced their way into the home via the side garage door. They searched the bedrooms before entering the master bedroom where the homeowner was sleeping. The suspects held the victim down as they ransacked the home, police said.

A similar home invasion robbery took place Tuesday night at about 10 p.m. on the 3100 block of Mountain Drive. In that incident, the suspects pointed a gun at the residents.

The victims in both robberies were elderly Asian adults, police said.

Detailed descriptions were not given in either incident but police believe the cases are related.

“It’s likely the two cases are related due to a number of similar factors, including the method of entry, time of occurrence and victim profile,” police said in a statement.

Detectives are investigating the case and are urging anyone with information regarding the crimes to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Fremont Police at 510-790-6900 or tips can be submitted by texting Tip FremontPD to 888777.
