Highway 84 Reopened After Fatal Collision

CHP officials say one person was killed in the crash but the identity has not yet been released.

All lanes of westbound state Highway 84 are blocked following a fatal crash in Alameda County this evening, the California Highway Patrol said.

The collision was reported at about 5:45 p.m. just east of  Interstate Highway 680 near Sunol. A Sigalert was issued shortly after 6 p.m., according to the CHP.

At least one person died in the crash and the cause remains under  investigation.
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes, the CHP said.
