Fremont Police Blotter: Sharp-Eyed Cop Busts Suspected Burglers

The Fremont Police Department selected and wrote the following blotter items. 

Friday, Jan.  3

Suspended License Arrest: At approximately 11:20 a.m. Officer Hartman conducted a traffic enforcement stop at Mission Blvd/Las Palmas and arrested/cited an adult male for driving on a suspended license. 

Mental Health Evaluation: Officer Contrada responded and contacted a teenage female who stated she wanted to hurt herself.  Ofc. Contrada sent the juvenile for a mental health evaluation. 

Residential Burglary: Sometime during the night unknown suspects entered a garage on the 5100 block of Glacier Park Ct.  Entry was possibly gained via a remote control garage door opener inside one of the victims vehicles.  Bicycles, golf clubs and ski equipment were taken.   

Public Intoxication Arrest: At approximately 2:40 p.m., Officer Fuellenbach arrested  a 36 year old adult male for being drunk in public on the 4600 block of Devonshire Common. . 

Special Enforcement:The traffic unit deployed  officers and set up a highly visible command post in the south part of town to monitor the Friday car meet up and recent street racing incidents around Pacific Commons.  Only a handful of vehicles showed up.  

Stolen Vehicle: A 1994 Nissan Altima, 4-door, tan in color, License #3KHV431 was stolen from the Fremont Main Library on Stevenson Blvd. Stolen VehicleA 1991 Chevy Silverado with a red camper shell was taken from Salang Pass in the 37000 block of Fremont Blvd. 

DUI Arrest: Officer Meredith was behind a vehicle that suddenly pulled over for him, even though no emergency lights had been activated.  Officer Meredith stops behind it and approaches the car on Royal Palm Dr and Blacksand Rd.  Officer Meredith ends up arresting the driver, a 56 year old adult female, for DUI.  

DUI Arrest: At approximately 1:40 a.m., Officers were dispatched to vehicle collision on Decoto Blvd at 880.  Officer Nordseth ends up arresting the driver, a 29 year old adult male, for DUI.  

Saturday, Jan. 4 


Possession of Dangerous Drugs: At approximately 7:30 a.m., Officer Leopardi contacted an adult male and arrested him for possession of dangerous drugs (suspected methamphetamine).  

Attended Deaths Officers were dispatched to two separate incidents in which elderly males had passed away.  The first incident involved a 92-year-old male who was unresponsive inside a vehicle at the 3000 Block of Howard Common.  The second incident involved an unresponsive 83-year-old male who was at home, in bed on Zacate Place. FFD responded to both locations and pronounced both males deceased. Officer Macciola investigated incident on Howard Common (CR #05) and Officer Soper investigated the incident on Zacate Place (CR #04).  There were no signs of foul play at either incident.  

Sunday, Jan. 5 


Commercial Burglary: A storage unit was burglarized at the Public Storage on Enterprise.  Case investigated by CSO Aguirre. 

Suspicious Circumstances: Officers were called to Quadres Court in regards to a man we've had recent contact with.  Today the reporting party states that he is acting bizarre and walking around the neighborhood wearing a dress and blowing a whistle.  Upon arrival, The male had retreated to his house and claimed to be OK. No crime, so we walked away.   

Commercial Burglary: Officer Gilfoy was patrolling the area of Hanover Pl when he noticed a trailer with an open door. He noticed a ladder propped to the door (Clue #1), a pair of bolt cutters near the door (Clue #2), and heard a noise coming from inside (Clue #3). Several units responded and contacted a 30-year-old Newark resident as he emerged from the trailer. They also located his girlfriend, a 27-year-old adult female, Newark resident, inside the trailer. Both were arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property and other crimes. Great spot and arrest by Ofc. Gilfoy! 

Warrant Arrest: Officer Zargham responded to an address on Northumberland Terrace and arrested a 22 year old Fremont resident for a dangerous weapons warrant. 

Battery Arrest: Officer Samayoa was dispatched to a disturbance at Shaker’s Pizza where an employee called to report several males were creating a disturbance and making threats after being refused alcohol.  Ofc. Samayoa located the men,  all Fremont residents (21, 19 & 21 years), walking away from the business.  One of the 21 year olds was arrested and booked for battery.
