The Fremont Police Department released the following reports of recent police activity via Nixle Alerts—

Friday, March 14:

Incidents  314 Reports 45
 
#038 DUI Arrest Multiple citizens called to report a female driver falling asleep at the wheel on Blacow Rd.  
  • Officer Lobue located the vehicle on Central Av at Blacow Rd and subsequently arrested the 60 year old adult female for DUI.  
#040 Carjacking with a gun
  • The victim was starting up his work van in the parking lot of a flooring business located in the 44000 block of Fremont Blvd when a suspect armed with a handgun approached him from behind and stole the van. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male adult, tall with a thin build, 25-26 years old and wearing a blue shirt.  Case investigated by Officer J. Harvey. 
#046 Drug Paraphernalia Arrest
  • Officers Torrico and Madsen conducted a probation search at a room in Motel 6 (north).  Officer Torrico cites a 31 year old adult female, Hayward resident, for narcotics paraphernalia. 
#005 DUI Arrest
  • Officer Perry arrested a 27 year old adult male, Fremont resident, for DUI. 
#007 DUI Arrest
  • Officer Nordseth arrested a 20 year old adult male, Fremont resident, for DUI. 
#045 Battery on Peace Officer
  • Officers responded to a report of a naked female on Niles Blvd. Officer Dooley located the 41 year old adult female and during the contact she spit on Officer Dooley.  The female was arrested for battery on a peace officer.  
#047 Suspended License and Theft Arrests
  • Officer Piol was flagged down at the Walmart on Albrae St. by a store employee reporting a theft from the store.  Officer Piol located and stopped a vehicle associated to the suspects.  He ended up citing the driver for a suspended license and citing the passenger, a 23 year old adult female, Newark resident, for theft.  
#001 Theft and Resisting Arrest
  • Officers responded to the Safeway at the Hub for a report of an adult male stealing alcoholic beverages.  The adult male was located by Officer Madsen, but would not stop for him.  Other officers arrived and after a brief struggle detained the man. Officer Meredith arrested the 39 year old adult male, Fremont resident, for theft and resisting arrest.   
Saturday, March 15:
Incidents 270  Reports 39 

  • Parking Enforcement CSOs Anders and Oliveira conducted traffic enforcement in the area of Mission Peak and issued eighteen citations for various vehicle and municipal code violations. 

#013 Expired Registration in Excess of Six Months
  • While patrolling Bill Ball Plaza/ACE train depot lot in Centerville, Officer Fuellenbach towed one vehicle for excessive expired registration.   
#016 Unlicensed Driver and Evading Arrest
  • Officer Hartman attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop on Washington Blvd. at which time the driver fled towards Irvington Ave. Officer Hartman did not pursue the vehicle however, he observed the driver pull into an apartment complex on Irvington Ave. Officer Hartman located the driver and arrested the adult male for being an unlicensed driver and for evading arrest.

#022 Possession of Meth, Possession of Paraphernalia and Warrant Arrest
  • Meth possession, meth pipe and warrant arrest by Officer Valdes during a traffic stop at "I" St./ Second St. in Niles.  A 39 year old adult male, Hayward resident, had a $5K warrant for meth possession.  A 33 year old adult male, Fremont resident, was in possession of meth. A 23 year old adult female, transient, had a meth pipe. The two men went to jail and the female received a citation.  
#024, 026 Possession of Meth, Possession of Paraphernalia and Providing False Information to a Police Officer
  • Meth possession, meth pipe, false info to officer and possession of a switchblade arrest by Officer Hollifield during a traffic stop at  Lemonwood/Seneca Park Av.  A 25 year old adult female, Fremont resident, lied about her name and was eventually arrested and booked. 
#025 Public Intoxication Arrest 
  • Public drunkenness arrest by Officer Snyder during a ped-stop at Fremont/Stevenson. A 28 year old adult female,  E. Palo Alto resident,  was unable to care for herself. She was arrested and direct booked to Santa Rita.  
#032 Warrant Arrest
  • Warrant Arrest by Officer Piol during a ped-stop at Motel 6 south.  A 34 year old adult male, Vallejo resident, had DUI warrant and was arrested and booked.  
#032 Parolee-at-Large
  • Parolee-at-large arrest by Officer Stillitano during a probation search on the 39000 block of Mt. Vernon. Five persons on probation were in the house. A 44 year old adult male, Fremont resident, was arrested for his parole warrant. 
#019 Petty Theft Arrest 
  • A 28 year old adult male, Fremont resident, was detained by security at Fry's Electronics.  Officer Harvey received him into custody and he was booked into our jail. 
#007 DUI Arrest
  • Officer Perry comes across a single vehicle traffic collision.  He ends up arresting the driver, a 21 year old adult male, Fremont resident, for DUI.  
Sunday, March 16:

#010 Possession of Meth and Drug Paraphernalia Arrest 
  • Officer Foster conducted a traffic enforcement stop in Niles and arrested an adult male for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. 
Parking Violations
  • For the second day in a row, CSO Anders and three officers conducted traffic enforcement near Mission Peak and issued several citations for vehicle and municipal code violations. 
IH#14021076 Disturbing the Peace - Loud Music/Non-permitted Event
  • Dispatch received multiple calls of loud music and excessive vehicle traffic at the Hindu Temple on Delaware Dr. in Irvington. Sgt. O’Connell responded and found that the temple was having an un-permitted event with an attendance of 1,500-2,000 people. It was estimated that over 1,000 vehicles were parked throughout the residential area with some blocking residential driveways and utilizing the school without permission. The event organizer agreed (after multiple warnings) to lower the music and requested that attendees move vehicles that were illegally parked. The event ended at 3:00 p.m. and we had to provide 9 officers to assist with traffic control.  Sergeants O’Connell and Snelson managed the incident.  Due to lack of appropriate space and parking, events of this magnitude have been denied at this location in the past.  An event permit was napps gained and City staff are reviewing the various violations.  
#020 Meth Sales and Warrant Arrest
  • Meth sales arrest and warrant arrest during an investigative contact by Officer Valdes on the 37000 block of Mission Blvd.  A 44 year old adult male had an outstanding drug warrant and was arrested.  A 47 year old adult male had over 8 grams of meth in his possession. He was charged with sales. Both were booked at Santa Rita. 
#019 Misc. Public Service
  • Misc. Public service at 43500 block of Christy St (Five Guys Hamburgers). The Manager called about a one-year old child locked in a car by itself. Officers responded but the parents had opened the vehicle by the time they arrived. The child was okay.  
#021 Robbery 
  • A female victim called to claim that she had been accosted and beaten by two females who then took her dog from her purse and went into the Florence bar. The suspects had already fled the area by the time we arrived. We determined that the victim had been in an argument with the “suspects” prior to the incident. The victim soon became uncooperative and walked away from us as we attempted to complete the report.  
#026 DUI Arrest
  • Officer Kwok contacted the driver of a vehicle at the Target on Fremont Blvd.  He ends up arresting the 36 year old adult male driver driver, Fremont resident, for DUI. #003 Mental Heath IncidentA caller reported that he had just found a woman in his house on Via Lugano, who was not a resident. Officers respond and contact the reporting party and his wife.  The woman, age 24 out of Union City, claimed it was her mother’s home.  Officer Nordseth detains the woman and places her on a mental health hold.

#021 Robbery

  • Officer Little investigated a robbery where a very shaken victim reported she was attacked near Haller’s Pharmacy at Fremont Blvd./Peralta Blvd.  She told officers that two females and one black male adult battered her and then stole her bike. The description of the suspects was very vague.  The man was described as wearing a red shirt and one of the women had brown hair. Officer searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects.

#019 Residential Burglary

  • At approximately 12:15 p.m., a resident reported that their home had been burglarized on the 800 block of Glenhill Drive.  During the investigation officers learned that a neighbor saw a suspicious person walking away from the victim’s house carrying a black backpack around noon. The possible suspect was described as a black adult male, in his late 20’s, approximately 6’ tall and 250 lbs. He was wearing a red/white jacket and unknown color pants carrying a black backpack. The unknown suspect made entry by prying the side garage pedestrian door. Several items were taken and were primarily small electronics.

#015 Residential Burglary

  • CSO Aguirre responded to the 4000 block of Alder Ave at approximately 10:20 a.m., to investigate a burglary that had occurred sometime during the night, possibly from about 5:00 p.m. on 3/16 to 8:00 a.m. on 3/17.   The loss included tools and laminate flooring.

#044 Possession of Cocaine and Drug Paraphernalia

  • Officer Hernandez and FTO Ehling conducted a vehicle stop at Motel 6 (north) and arrested a 43 year old adult female for possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

#046 Warrant Arrest

  • Officer Hernandez and FTO Ehling conducted a vehicle stop at Motel 6 (north) and contacted a 33 year old adult male who was subsequently arrested for a misdemeanor warrant.

#047 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

  • Officer Taylor conducted a subject stop in the area of Fremont/880 (north).  He contacted a 42 year old adult male, Fremont resident and arrested him for possession of drug paraphernalia

  • A series of unsuccessful forgeries was investigated at Bank of America (Irvington), US Bank (Fremont /Beacon), and Bank of the West (Mowry).  One suspect, a 49 year old adult male, was taken into custody at Bank of America.  This was investigated by Officer Hernandez and Officer Ehling.  A second suspect, 19 year old adult male, was taken into custody at Bank of the West after his unsuccessful check cashing attempt at US Bank.  This case was investigated by Officer Peters. 

#050 Warrant Arrest 

  • Officer Fuellenbach conducted a pedestrian stop on a 33 year old adult male and arrested him for his misdemeanor warrants for drug related cases.

#052 Warrant Arrest 

  • Officer Samayoa conducted a pedestrian stop on a 44 year old adult female and arrested her for a no bail traffic warrant.

#001 Probation Search

  • At approximately 11:30 p.m., in the area of Kirby’s Bar, Officer Fuellenbach conducted a traffic stop on a 27 year old adult female and learned she was on probation with a search clause. Officer Fuellenbach conducted a probation search of the vehicle and recovered a large illegal firework under the driver seat. Officer Fuellenbach collected the firework for destruction and documented the incident.

#054 Commercial Burglary 

  • At approximately 11:35 p.m., CSO Allen on viewed a security guard chasing a male near CVS at the Hub. Officers respond and confirm the male committed a theft at CVS. Officer Greenberg-Bobbitt began checking the area and located the suspect, who was later identified by a witness in an in-field. The suspect refused to provide his name or date of birth and had no identification on him. Officer Soper investigated the case and booked the 45 year old adult male, Oakland resident, into Santa Rita for commercial burglary, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and criminal threats. 

#003 Public Intoxication 

  • At approximately 1:05 a.m., officers were dispatched to Cloverleaf Bowl for a report of a disturbance involving two customers who were refusing to leave.  The caller advised that both patrons had been drinking.  Officer Gentry and FTO Settle responded and contacted the two men in the parking lot.  One of the men, a 31 year old adult male, Fremont resident, appeared heavily intoxicated and could not answer questions the officers were asking of him.  It was determined that he was unable to care for himself for his own safety and was arrested for public intoxication.  Officers summoned a taxi for the second man and he left. 

Tuesday, March 18:

Incidents 331 Reports 43

#015 Possible Drug Overdose

  • Ofc Francisco investigated a case where a female adult was not breathing and was laying on the sidewalk near Fremont/Grimmer.  Units responded code-3 and assisted.  With the help of Fremont Fire and the ambulance crew she was revived.  Subsequent investigation revealed a possible overdose.  Detectives Decker, Smith & Geibig assisted as the situation unfolded into a drug related incident.  .

#28 Possession of Meth for Sales Arrest

  • Ofc. Hernandez and Ofc. Ehling conducted a vehicle stop at Peralta Blvd. and Glenmoor Dr.  The 49 year old adult male driver, was arrested for possession of meth for sales.

#36 DUI Arrest

  • Traffic Officer Snow responded to a collision at Mowry Ave and Sutter Dr.  Officer Snow arrested a 59 year old adult male for DUI.

#042 Driving without a License Arrest

  • Officer Dexter conducted a traffic stop on a 25 year old adult male and arrested him for driving without a license.

#006 Warrant Arrest

  • Officer Chahouati conducted a pedestrian stop on a 53 year old adult male and arrested him for two outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

#004 Suspicious Circumstance

  • Officers were dispatched to Matthew Terrace for a report of two male suspects tampering with a vehicle. The reporting party heard his vehicle alarm sounding and looked out to see the suspects quickly walking away from his car. The reporting party believed the suspects entered a dark vehicle and drove away. Officer Luevano located a vehicle driving “blacked out” away from the scene. Officer Luevano attempted a traffic stop; however, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. Officer Luevano did not pursue the vehicle and lost sight of it near Ardenwood Blvd and W/B 84. Officer Taylor was traveling W/B 84 and believed he saw the vehicle far ahead, still “blacked out.” Officer Taylor lost sight of the vehicle and traveled across the Dumbarton to see if the vehicle stopped or slowed down; however, the vehicle was not located. CHP and Menlo Park PD were notified. Incident documented by Officer Luevano.
