Fremont Police and Fire are on-scene attending to a single vehicle collision into a wooden utility pole on Walnut Ave just west of Overacker Ave.   Westbound Walnut Ave (coming from Mission Blvd.) is closed and traffic is being diverted onto Overacker Ave.

The call came into dispatched at 11:56 a.m. notifying police and fire that a vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.  All occupants of the vehicle were able to escape without injury.  As a result of the impact to the pole, several signal lights on Walnut Ave and in that general area are out.  Bear Electric has been notified and will be responding to attend to the pole that is in danger of falling over.  We do not currently have an eta on their arrival or of when power will be restored.

Please avoid this area if possible.
