Duct-Taped Packages Prompt Evacuation of Business

Police said the Alameda County Bomb Squad was called Monday after suspicious packages were found in a business' courtyard.

Suspicious packages found in front of a business near Ardenwood Monday morning prompted a bomb squad response and an evacuation of the building, according to police.

A facility mangaer of the business, which is located on the 6700 block of Kaiser Drive, called authorities around 5 a.m. after discovering three packages in under a lightpole in an employee courtyard, said Fremont Police Spokeswoman Geneva Bosques.

According to police, the packages were wrapped in duct tape.

An evacuation was put in place and the Alameda County Bomb Squad responed and determined that the packages were safe at approxmiately 8:30 a.m., according to Bosques.
