Car Thief Caught After Snoozing in Stolen Vehicle

Police were called after a passer-by saw the man unresponsive in the car.

A man was arrested after police caught him sleeping in a stolen vehicle Monday morning.

According to Fremont police, officers were called around 6:15 a.m. when a passer-by saw a man passed out in the vehicle.

Officers who responded learned that the vehicle was stolen and the man inside "was just passed out," police said.

The man, David Mandeville, 52, was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and possession of a controlled substance and for a parole warrant.
