Police in Milpitas have released still images of three suspects taken from a 7-Eleven store video surveillance system where a clerk was shot and killed early Saturday during a robbery.
The video showed three males, armed with handguns, entering the store wearing hooded sweatshirts and confronting the clerk, later identified as Mohammad Reza Sadeghzadeh, 67, of Milpitas.
Police were called to the store at 1496 N. Milpitas Blvd. at about 2:13 a.m. Saturday on a report of a person injured inside. Officers found Sadeghzadeh on the floor; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives determined that the shooting occurred during the commission of a robbery. The killing is the first homicide in Milpitas in 2012.
Lt. Daryl Sequeira, with the Milpitas Police Department, said Monday that every detective on the force is working on the case in some capacity. Nonetheless, police are still seeking help from members of the public who may know something about what happened.
Sequeira said police particularly want to hear from people who visited the store in the hour or so before and immediately after the shooting.
"We're looking for anybody who may have seen anything that night," Sequeira said. "Even if they think it wasn't important at the time, it might be now," he added.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday officials from 7-Eleven corporate offices in Dallas announced a $10,000 reward is being offered to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the homicide.
