Children, teens, and families who gathered around the TV this summer did not just cheer on our U.S. teams, they were inspired by them as well. Watching our elite Olympic athletes inspires us to do and be our best, and to make better choices about our physical health, as well. You most likely know that childhood obesity is a major problem in the U.S. as 20% of children age 6-11 and 18% of adolescents age 12-19 years old are obese (Source: CDC). Keeping kids active now that school has begun can be even more challenging as families balance new schedules, homework, transportation, and other demands.
