HERS Breast Cancer Foundation (HBCF) proudly hosts two annual events to support and fund its foundation, enabling the staff to continue caring for its clients regardless of financial status. Every September HBCF hosts the annual KEEP Abreast 5k/10k Walk/Run, which delivered record numbers in 2012. HBCF is now preparing for the People with Purpose luncheon. This event will be held on Thursday, April 25th, 2013 at the Sheraton San Jose, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. PT. The event will again be hosted by Heather Holmes, KTVU News Anchor. It includes lunch and dessert, an awards presentation and a very special guest speaker, Huffington Post writer Lauren Cahn.

People with Purpose (PWP) is an event dedicated to honoring women and men in the Bay Area from the breast cancer community who are making a difference in the spirit of survivorship. HERS Breast Cancer Foundation is committed and enjoys bringing beauty and dignity back into the lives of breast cancer survivors.

The PWP benefit luncheon will salute four individuals who have shown they have what it takes to make a difference in the lives of women who are affected by this terrible disease. The awards reflect the mission of HBCF to support all women healing from breast cancer by providing them with post-surgical garments and emotional support regardless of their financial status. The Hope, Empowerment, Renewal and Support awards (H.E.R.S.) are based on the area that the honoree has contributed to bringing survivors hope for the future, empowering their spirit, renewing their sense of well-being and supporting their journey.
