Privacy and Security in 2014, HIPAA and Beyond - Webinar By MentorHealth

Overview: HIPAA Privacy, Security and Breach are the basis for healthcare rules that protect patient and provider information. This presentation examines the increased areas of enforcement and the findings from the regulatory audits that were conducted in 2012 to identify threats and liabilities all healthcare providers, insurance companies and business associates face. Action items to reduce these risks and best practices for HIPAA compliance (that also serves to protect from other enforcement actions as well) will be discussed as well as deeper discussions about automating HIPAA processes, especially breach investigation and determination. 

Why should you attend: HIPAA and other forms of privacy and security investigations, enforcement and audits are at an all-time high. Being proactive with privacy and security compliance will reduce risks of penalties, lawsuits and other unwanted effects from violations. Obtaining Certificate of Credit

Colorado Foundation for Medical Care (CFMC) hosts an online activity evaluation system, certificate and outcomes measurement process. Following the activity, you must link to CFMC's online site (link below) to complete the evaluation form in order to receive your certificate of credit. Once the evaluation form is complete and submitted, you will be automatically sent a copy of your certificate via email. Please note, participants must attend the entire activity to receive all types of credit. Continuing Education evaluation and request for certificates will be accepted up to 60 days post activity date. CFMC will keep a record of attendance on file for 6 years.
