The number of foreclosure homes in Fremont is down 66 percent over last year, and they're selling for an average of $211,250 less than non-foreclosure houses.
That's according to a report released Thursday from Realty Trac, which shows 348 homes in some sort of foreclosure in Fremont with 58 of those houses for sale.
The median sale price for foreclosure homes was $400,000 in April. That was steady from April 2012.

The median sale price for non-foreclosure houses was $611,250, up 9 percent from a year before.
In May, the number of properties that have received a foreclosure filing in Fremont was 11 percent lower than in April and down 66 percent from May 2012.

Overall, homes sales in Fremont in April were up 19 percent from the previous month and up 3 percent from the year before.
The figures were part of a national report released by Realty Trac that showed there are 712,000 foreclosure homes in the United States. Of those, 167,000 have been vacated by their owners.
