A Newark man and a Union City man were arrested late Sunday night after they tried to abduct and rob a man in Fremont, police said. Authorities said officers were called just after 10:30 p.m. Sunday after a man said two armed men pushed him and tried to force him into their car near the Waterstone Apartments off of Fremont Boulevard between Walnut Avenue and Stevenson Boulevard. Police were able to locate them and found a pellet gun and a cell phone from a robbery that occurred at the Heritage Apartments on the 38000 block of Fremont Boulevard earlier in the day inside of the suspects’ vehicle. The duo was arrested on suspicion of robbery.

Man Robbed at Gunpoint, Punched in Head in Robbery
A man who posted his Macbook Pro for sale on Craigslist was robbed at gunpoint after he agreed to meet a potential buyer at Mountain Mike’s Pizza on the 3900 block of Washington Boulevard on Sunday. Police said the suspect approached the victim with a silver handgun, punched the victim in the head, stole the laptop and fled. The suspect was described as a 5-foot-10 man of thin build with braided or pony-tailed rows and had bad teeth.

Man Steals Laptops While Teen Asleep in Home
Police are searching for a suspect who burglarized a home on Jacaranda Drive early Sunday morning. Police said a couple was driving home around 1:15 a.m. and noticed their gate open. As the woman homeowner went to close the gate, the male suspect pushed her and fled. The victims said a rear window was open and that several laptops were taken from the home, but her teenage daughter, who was asleep in her bedroom, was safe and undisturbed. The suspect was described as a light-skinned, 5-foot-10 male of thin build with spiky hair. He was last seen wearing dark clothing and white gloves, police said.
Man Attacked and Robbed at Niles Community Park
A man suffered minor injuries after he was punched in the face and robbed of his cell phone around 4:15 p.m Saturday. Police said the man was at Niles Community Park on 3rd Street when two or three suspects approached him. Police were able to locate three suspects and one minor was arrested while the other two were released. Authorities said another suspect fled before police arrived.
Man Burglarizes Home of Ex-Girlfriend
A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence along with other charges Friday night. Police said officers were called to the 3300 block of Cornish Court after a witness said they saw lights at the home’s backyard and heard loud banging and when officers arrived they saw the man inside the home and knowing he had been spotted, the suspect fled and jumped a fence, officers said. Authorities said it was determined that the man was the ex-boyfriend of the homeowner’s daughter and that he knew the family was out of town. Police said a window of the home had been smashed.
Minors Arrested After Purse Snatch
Two minors were arrested after police said the pair – along with an outstanding third suspect – approached a female walking away from the Irvington Community Center around 7:45 p.m. Friday. The victim said the three suspects – two males and one female – approached her, snatched her purse and ran. Police are working on identifying the third suspect.
Woman Tries To Run Over Boyfriend After Spotting Him With Another Woman
Police are investigating a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. Officers were called to Walmart on Albrae Street around 5:10 p.m. Friday after a witness said a woman in a car tried to run over a man in the store’s parking lot. Authorities said it’s believed a woman “confronted her boyfriend who was with another woman” and a physical fight broke out. The investigation is ongoing.
Minor Arrested After Waving Knife in Burglary Attempt
A minor was arrested on several charges after residents reported that an alleged burglar was inside of their home at the Durham Green Apartments on Grimmer Boulevard. When the victim confronted the suspect, the minor brandished a knife then fled. The boy was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of a dangerous weapon, brandishing a weapon and possession of cocaine.
Trio of Woman Arrested After Crashing Stolen Car
Three women were arrested after Fremont police spotted a stolen vehicle reported out of Newark on Aug. 15. Police said they pursued the suspect vehicle into Fremont and that when the motorist began driving on the wrong side of the road near Central Avenue at Blacow Road, authorities stopped following the vehicle. Officers then checked the area and found the stolen vehicle crashed into a tree on Thornton Avenue near Dusterberry Way. The women were found after witnesses told officers where they had fled.
Gun Allegedly Waved During Custody Exchange
A 44-year-old Fremont man was detained Aug. 14 after San Francisco police called Fremont police to report that a Fremont resident wielded a firearm during a parent/custody exchange. Police set up surveillance at the Fremont man’s home near Robin and Porter streets and when he drove onto his driveway, he was detained without incident and taken into custody by the San Francisco Police Department.
A man was arrested after he attempted to rob five minors as they were leaving fast food restaurant located at the Fremont Hub Shopping Center on Aug. 13, police said. The man approached the group of minors while they were waiting at a bus stop in front of Pizza Hut and said “give me your money” but the minors refused and the suspected robber “threatened to fight them,” police said. Four of the victims fled by boarding a bus and the fifth victim began walking home. As the minor turned around to demand that the suspect stop following him, the victim said the man was holding a small knife, according to authorities. He was found, arrested and booked into Fremont Jail.
Burglaries and Thefts
A home burglary on Joshua Court was reported just before 4 p.m. Sunday and the homeowners said it could’ve occurred between Wednesday and Sunday. Police said a rear sliding glass door appeared to have been pried by the suspect(s) and jewelry and other small items were taken from the home.
An attempted home burglary was reported around 3:10 p.m. on Andromeda Circle.
A 26-year-old Fremont woman was arrested on suspicion of burglary and receiving known stolen property around 6 p.m. Friday after officers were called to a report of a forgery at the Check Cashing business on the 39400 block of Fremont Boulevard. Officials took the woman’s 1-year-old child, who was with her at the time of the crime, into child protective services.
A 25-year-old Fremont man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle after police spotted the vehicle near Farwell Drive around 4 p.m. Friday and saw the man try to drive the vehicle away. After a short foot chase, he was detained.
A 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle on Aug. 16.
A home burglary was reported on Sandpiper Place on Aug. 16.
A woman was robbed after a suspect approached her in the parking lot of Crestwood Manor Apartments on the 4300 block of Stevenson Boulevard and tried to choke her while taking her pendant on Aug. 15.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of an outstanding grand theft warrant on Aug. 16.
A home burglary was reported on the 5550 block of Roundtree Common on Aug. 14.
A home burglary occurred on Winston Court some time on Aug. 13.
An attempted home burglary was reported on the 4800 block of Richland Terrace on Aug. 13. According to police, the reporting party said the burglary happened between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Aug. 7
A home burglary occurred on the 39000 block of Argonaut Way between 10:30 a.m. and 4:10 p.m. on Aug. 13. Police said the suspect(s) entered through an unlocked sliding glass door in the back of the home and that while several belongings were missing from the home, it was found wrapped up in a blanket in the backyard of the home.
Two men were arrested Aug. 13 after authorities said they found stolen property inside of the vehicle they were in. Authorities said a witness called police after seeing one man jump over a fence on Everglades Park Drive and jump into a car driven by the second suspect.
Drugs and Alcohol
A 51-year-old man was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of drunken driving on Sunday during a traffic stop off Mission Boulevard near Mohave Terrace.
A male was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs for sale near Lincoln and Union Streets in the Irvington District on Aug. 15.
Fires
Fremont police assisted Fremont firefighters on Aug. 13 after fire officials responded to Fischer Park in Ardenwood to investigate a small arson fire. Officials said the arsonist melted a play structure at the park.
Traffic
A motorcyclist was hospitalized after receiving major injuries in a traffic incident on Aug. 16. Police said the motorcyclist had been traveling at high speeds and splitting lanes when he collided with a car that was changing lanes.
A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a hit-and-run after an accident on Aug. 14. Though he fled from the scene, police said he left his license plate behind and officers were able to find his vehicle shortly after.
Weapons Offenses
Police are investigating an incident reported on Sunday morning in which a resident reported that a group of males challenged him to a fight and threatened him a club-like object after the resident confronted a neighbor about speeding on Burnside Court around 11:40 a.m.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested after police said he was in possession of an airsoft gun. Authorities said a witness reported seeing the teenager point a “handgun” at a person who was riding a bicycle on Aug. 14.
Miscellaneous
A former parolee was stopped by 24 Hour Fitness in the Irvington District on Aug. 13 and arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia. But while searching the parolee, the officer found a camera that was believed to be stolen from a local furniture store, too.
A woman was placed on a psychiatric hold after police were called to Blacow Road near Hansen Street to a report of a motorist intentionally driving into a sound wall continuously.
