What Should Replace the Old Market Broiler?

Mowry East Shopping Center in Fremont was once home to numerous shops and restaurants, including the iconic Market Broiler.

But years ago, the seafood restaurant moved to the Pacific Commons Shopping Center, leaving its former location empt in a shopping center full of vacancies.

So, Tri-Cities, what business would you like to see replace the former Market Broiler? Share your thoughts in our comments section below.

Its going to be tough to put a well named establishment on that location, Even the Olive garden on that area was slowing down. something about the old building that does not attract potential customers, or maybe the road to take to get into that plaza.
Hopefully a grocery or a good name restaurant move in and live up that area again.

Someone should build a civic Performing Arts and meeting center - a small theater that can be used by local music, theater and dance groups with an auditorium, rehearsal spaces, meeting rooms, etc. Not sure if that space would be large enough, but a city as large as Fremont should have a civic arts center like the Bankhead theater in Livermore or dozens more that exist in the cities that surround us.

Fremont needs a real good seafood restuarant, like the Fish Market or Scotts Seafood and Grill. We used to have a excellent seafood restuarant called Luchiano's or something like that.

I agree with Daria Wagganer on the Performing Arts Center, but........ Most if not all Performing Art Centers, like the one in San Jose, needs a sponsor, why. They lose money, no performing arts center I know of Pays for itself. John Fry is the main sponsor of the San Jose Performing Arts Center.
We need to find sponsors to help underwrite the Performing Arts Center

I'd still like to see an employee or member-owned co-op store with affordable healthy, organic, bulk, locally-produced, and American-made products somewhere in the increasing number of vacant buildings in the Tri-City area. If run well by a dedicated group, I think it could be a real anchor business and encourage similar small business efforts to spring up around it.

that shopping place is like the land of the lost....its time has passed long ago for a business to work there....isn't an old movie theater there...
