A rapidly expanding India-based restaurant chain just opened its first U.S. franchise in Fremont. Go Chaatzz, a quick-serve “Indian Fusion Diner,” features a large menu of all-vegetarian Indian dishes as well as Chinese, Mexican and even some Italian cuisine. Shopping for a new tattoo or piercing? You have two new choices in Fremont: Dogfather Tattoo recently opened on J Street in the Niles district next to recently reopened Joe’s Corner deli. A new 44,000 square-foot fitness facility, City Sports Club, is set to open next spring in the former Cinedome Theaters location on Farwell. Read more in earlier Patch coverage.

A Vietnamese noodle bowl eatery opened Oct. 27 in Newark. Pho Saigon Noodle & Grill, located on Jarvis Avenue next to sushi, features a large menu of pho noodle bowls, rice plates, egg rolls, shaking beef, and grilled and barbecue meat and veggie dishes. The new restaurant replaced Saigon Noodle & Grill.
Rasputin Music is scheduled to open a store in NewPark Mall in time for Black Friday. The 40-year-old Bay Area independent record store chain, formerly located across the street in the old Mowry Crossing Center, sells vinyl albums, new and used CDs plus games, DVDs and music and movie posters. OK (“Our Kitchen”) Café recently replaced Union City’s Big Brother restaurant. At the new OK Café, located on Decoto Road near Safeway, you can dine on Chinese dishes like Green Onion Ginger Lobster served over pan-fried noodles while watching Hong Kong shows on a large flat screen. The new eatery is now also open for breakfast.
Union City has a new affordable but high-end women’s boutique. Chloe Urban Chic Boutique sells both consignment and new clothing and accessories, featuring new boutique lines as well as upscale consigned brands like Juicy Couture and Anthropologie. Chloe Urban Chic Boutique also carries jewelry and other handcrafted items created by local artists. The new boutique opened in September in the Old Alvarado Historic District on Smith Street next to Purple Shampoo Lounge.
Got a hankering for barbecue ribs and Texas fries? Milpitas’s new Texas Style BBQ serves ribs, chicken, hot links and chicken wings paired with southern sides. Texas Style BBQ opened last month on Abel Street. You can view the menu on Yelp.
Several new shops opened recently in the Great Mall in Milpitas: Off Broadway Shoes, a high-fashion shoe warehouse, opened Oct. 18 next to Game Stop. Journeys apparel store reopened in a new location near Kohl’s. And J. Crew, previewed in the last column, is now open next to Van Heusen.
