Help Local Band The Squeaks Produce Music Video

Known for rocking local stages with their heart-melting covers of oldies, dapper Fremont teen trio The Squeaks are ready to put out more original works.

To push their new single, bassist/vocalist Lelan Fernando, guitarist/vocalist Lance Fernando and drummer Marc Messier are hoping to produce a music video. But they can’t do it without your help.

The group recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to help raise funds for the shoot.

They hope to raise $4,000 by Aug. 2 to cover the cost of filming the video, which will be shot by Bay Tiger Productions. The money will also pay for the cost of backer rewards, which include a number of incentives such as digital downloads for those who donate $10 or more, t-shirts for those who contribute $35, personalized voice mail greetings for $50 and even a private, two-hour private performance for those willing to shell out $1,200.

They’re definitely worthy of support.

There’s something endearing about a group of high school kids who aren’t so concerned with current trends and what’s hot right now. Instead, they take it back to Nat King Cole, Elvis and the Beatles (okay, they also have this really good cover of John Mayer’s “Gravity”). And their original songs, like “One More Chance,” maintain that classic, timeless feel.
