Heads up! Here are five things going on this week that you should know about:

  • Attend the last session of Fremont Main Library's Link to Jobs workshop series. This week's workshop, held today from 7 to 8:30 p.m., will focus on "Salary Search/Support Groups." Registration is required, so email grooshan@aclibrary.org or call 510-745-1440.
  • This week is your last chance to enter Patch's Best Halloween Costume in America Contest. If you haven't done so yet, you've got until Thursday to upload a photo of your awesome Halloween costume here. One lucky winner will receive $5,000. Follow the links for more details.
  • Check out photos of Bay Area bridges by local photographers at a special exhibit at the Fremont Main Library. The exhibit, Building Bridges to the Past, is showing every day this week except Sunday. It's located on the second floor of the library during library hours.
  • Have a fun and safe Halloween at the Fremont Hub this Wednesday. From 3 to 5 p.m., children are invited to come dressed in their costumes and trick-or-treat at participating businesses. A face painter and a balloonist will also be on site to entertain the little revelers.
  • Learn how to protect yourself from scammers at a free Identity Theft Seminar this Thursday at the Fremont Chamber of Commerce. From 11 a.m. to noon, learn tips on how to prevent identity theft, current trends and what to do if you become a victim.
