YouTube Finds: Motorola Commercial Filmed in Mission San Jose?

The commercial advertises the DROID RAZR M, which features Google Voice translation.

Did Motorola film a commercial at the historical landmark of Mission San Jose in Fremont?

It sure looks like it.

A commercial that appears to have been filmed at Mission San Jose for Motorola was posted on the company's YouTube channel in mid-November, and it has YouTube users from Fremont talking.

One YouTube user wrote, "Sweet! That's Mission San Jose at the top of Mission Blvd. Part of St. Joseph's parish. -- They cheated a little because the shot of the woman would NOT have shown overgrown ruins, but a few old shops and Mission Blvd. itself."

"Filmed in Fremont, Ca at the Mission San Jose," another person commented.

Watch the YouTube video in the media gallery above.

Starring a red-headed beauty and a furry dog, the advertisement shows the front steps of the mission that was founded in 1797 and highlights the DROID RAZR M and its Google Voice Translation tool.

Media representatives with Motorola were not immediately available to confirm the location of the commercial.

And the "ruins" in the background are just a different angle of the graveyard that sits adjacent to Old Mission San Jose. The camera people stood her at the East door of the Mission, facing out into the graveyard for that one shot. The other shots are from the front steps, facing to the south along Mission Blvd. The vendors of the Churro carts were hired to give it "flavor" of an old town in Mexico.
