Local Junior Skaters from Fremont Join Olympians

Ice Dreams, an Olympic Ice Show starring two-time Olympian and 3-time U.S. National Champion Johnny Weir plus a cast of national champions and aspiring local skaters will be at the Oakland Ice Center (518 18TH Street) in Oakland, CA on June 2, at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are available at www.icedreamstour.com or by calling 212-600-4330. The entertaining show also offers more than 50 young skaters from Northern California including, Jacqueline Vrdoljak (age 11), Pauline Vrdoljak (age 9) and Katie Golding (age 17) from Fremont, the chance to skate in the show on the same ice as their Olympic heroes. Joining Weir on the ice will be some of the top figure skating talent expected to compete in the Sochi Winter Games in 2014 including: U.S. National Champion Max Aaron; Samantha Cesario; U.S. National Silver Medal Ricky Dornbush; World Junior Silver Medalist, US Junior National Champion Jason Brown; U.S. National Bronze Medalists Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue; and 2013 U.S. Junior National Champion, 14-year-old Polina Edmunds of San Jose, CA. Weir, a 3-time U.S. Champion and 2-time Olympian and World medalist is one of the superstars of figure skating and emerging pop-culture icon. As the winner of both the 2008 and 2010 Readers’ Choice Skater of the Year Award, he joins Michelle Kwan as the only 2-time winner of the award. In addition to performing in shows and international competitions, Johnny is the star of his own reality series, Be Good Johnny on the Logo Network which goes beyond the sequins to examine the outrageous and outspoken Lady Gaga of figure skating.
