Do you love lunching in SF? Fashion history? Yes? Then join SAVE for "The Romance of the Shoe"!

SAVE (Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments) will benefit from a very special event at the San Francisco Elks Lodge No. 3 on Saturday, February 22, 2014 – “The Romance of the Shoe,” – a luncheon, fashion presentation, auction, and building tour!

This event will be held at the historic “jewel of Union Square” – the beautiful San Francisco Elks Lodge, which is housed in the same building as The Lexington Hotel, and Farallon Restaurant. “The Romance of the Shoe” is the work of former Fremont Elks First Lady Cindy Spickler and current San Francisco Elks First Lady Tina Shakour to benefit both SAVE and Westside Calworks of San Francisco.

The day will begin with a delicious luncheon at 11:30 am followed by a fun and informative presentation by fashion historians Kimberly Manning Aker and Alice Jurow about what many hold to be their favorite accessory – the shoe! Ms. Aker and Ms.  Jurow are known for their comprehensive knowledge about fashion and their witty commentary and anecdotes encompassing the earliest known shoe to more contemporary footwear.

The organizers wish to thank the SF Elks for their kind support as well as the following donors (to date): Fremont’s Tyme for Tea & Co., Cargill Salt, Kristen Caven, Daniel Finnamore, Sally Norton, Foggy Night Jewelry, Sharon Edelson Fine Jewelry, and Toby Suckow of Bimbo’s 365 Club.
